The last assignment of class was to create an entry for the Greenways Ride for Life contest. I drew out the bike and wrote the chemical equation, scanned it, and rendered it in Illustrator. I then manipulated the line art with the pen tool, and changed the color of the text.

Arora
For the end class project, we were required to craft a portfolio with our resume, a letter of recommendation, and some of our best artwork. We also had to create an original graphic for our cover design. I chose to create an arora with the guidelines of a tutorial using Illustrator.

Magazine Cover
The magazine cover was our last official assignment before creating our portfolios. We were required to use both original photography that we manipulated in some way, and illustrations, as well as to compile the entire thing together using InDesign.
For the photo aspect of the project, I took a photo of an old victorian house around the corner, and applied the color to black and white effect to it using Photoshop. After that, I compiled it together using InDesign with the text, and a small graphic that I created in Illustrator.

Event Poster
The event poster project was another project where we started with a concept sketch and rendered it in Illustrator. I have several other drafts that have some photo manipulations from Photoshop, but the one that I though looked best was the original one.

Pacific Horizon Logo
We were required to create a second logo, either working with one of the logos that we previously created, or from scratch, that was graphic focussed. I chose to create a new logo. We first created three concept sketches, chose the favorite one, and rendered a version in Illustrator in both back and white, and in color.

Treble Clef Studios Logo
This project was actually over an extended timeline. We began by sketching out some concept sketches for a company logo. From there, we recreated the concept sketches in Illustrator. We were to create three logos for each of the logo design styles: typeface focused, mixing typefaces, typeface plus graphic element, typeface plus shapes or symbols, and a graphic focussed design.

Proofreaders
| General Description Proofreaders read typed or computer generated text to check for mistakes. They look for errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation in the copy they read and use special symbols to mark the errors they find. Others then correct the errors using word processing equipment. Proofreaders look up grammatical rules in references and publication manuals. Dictionaries and technical glossaries are also consulted as needed to ensure accuracy. A few proofreaders specialize in proofing Braille, copy prepared for the blind. Braille script is read by sliding one's fingers over raised dots positioned to represent letters of the alphabet.
Hours & Conditions
While most proofreaders work 35 to 40 hours a week, some evening and/or weekend work may be required to meet publication deadlines. Work Locations Work locations for this occupation include newspapers, printing companies, book publishers, and government agencies. Pros & Cons Proofreaders enjoy using their attention to detail to help produce polished documents. They like applying their advanced grammatical skills to catch mistakes that others would miss. The work can become routine, however. Also, working under deadline pressure can be stressful.
